This year on Tuesday, November 29th, World Missions and Evangelism is thrilled to take part in Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving.

Giving Tuesday gives the opportunity to individuals, communities and organizations to encourage giving and to celebrate generosity worldwide during the holiday season.  Through the use of social media, the hashtag #GivingTuesday was created to encourage worldwide participation online so that anyone can get involved.  We are excited about Giving Tuesday and we want you to be also!

World Missions and Evangelism is facilitating Disciple Making Movements in Latin America through our INSTAR Project.  We are expecting to reach at least 5,000 new groups and churches by the end of this year!  Thousands are being discipled to follow the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our goal is to see multiple movements be born throughout the 47 countries and territories of Latin America and the Caribbean that ultimately plants hundreds of thousands of new churches and that reach all 331 Unreached People Groups in this Region of the World.  Over 500 million people need to respond to the Gospel in Greater Latin America.  God is working through INSTAR to plant the seed for multiple movements of new disciples that make disciples that make disciples.

INSTAR does 2 primary things:  Makes Disciples and Trains Leaders.

And there are 2 primary needs:
For Disciple Making INSTAR needs Megavoice audio players that help facilitate new Discovery Bible Studies where people can hear the Gospel and learn what it means to follow Christ.
These players can be placed with a year of beginning studies for about 30 dollars per unit.  Each Megavoice has the potential to be used in 3 or more groups making the impact even greater.  Our goal is to raise at least 100,000 dollars for Megavoices in 2017.

For Training Leaders INSTAR Conducts Disciple Making Training Events.  Our desire is to conduct 40 Training events in 2017...many of them small trainings that will cost less than 500 dollars.  Our goal for both large, small and mini training events for 2017 is 110,000 dollars.

The Holy Spirit and Disciple Making Movements

Recently at the Disciple Making Movement leadership meeting in California, one of the main topics that we focused on was the Role of the Holy Spirit.  A key leader from West Africa led the discussion of this topic.  I remember being especially challenged by this study and by interactions with this leader.  He is a special friend who I have known since 2006, and his influence has touched me greatly.  In the last few weeks since the meeting, I have reflected, prayed, and begun to seek the influence of the Holy Spirit more than I had been doing in recent years.  Now I want to share some reflections on the role of the Holy Spirit in Disciple Making Movements (which may or may not reflect the discussions we had in California).  Regardless of where one stands theologically, it cannot be denied that those who focus attention on the Holy Spirit's activity have seen the launching of some of the largest "Movements" in the history of the Church.  Think of the Pentecostal/Charism

Non-Cessationist Sola Scriptura: The Theology of CPM

I believe in a theological position that I call Non-Cessationist Sola Scriptura. Sola Scriptura refers to the Reformation doctrine that means "Scripture Alone" and that asserts that the Bible alone, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, are the only inspired Word of God and that they are the sole authority for God's people, flawlessly communicating God's will to mankind.
