The Story of the INSTAR Movement: How a Disciple Making Movement began in Latin America.

In 2008, when I started this blog, I wrote a timeline of the launch of the project.  In November 2011, I expanded that report greatly to bring the story of the HCPM work up to date.  Now I am reproducing that blog here and have edited it to bring it forward to the present and also to edit it based on new information. Breakthrough is happening, but here is a story of the road to breakthrough and the path of multiplication since breakthrough. God is doing a wonderful work, and any progress is only to His glory and power. We have done a lot of trial and error in the last few years, but the Lord of the harvest has been working His plan all along, through, with and sometimes in spite of us! Here is a timeline of what has been done in this project. September 2006: David Parish and Randy Travis take intensive training in C.P.M. principles from David Watson in Dallas. The H.C.P.M. concept is born. October 2006: Randy does research on C.P.M. principles. November-December 2006: Randy Travis, Kei

A Special Message at the end of 2015

Dear Friends of WME and the INSTAR Project We are coming to the end of 2015 and what a wonderful year it has been for the advance of the Gospel through the INSTAR Project!  We want to thank you  for your prayer and support of this project.  Recently we reported the amazing statistics for the last 12 months that we have tracked the amazing multiplication of groups, churches and new disciples to Jesus Christ.  From 4th quarter 2014 through 3rd quarter 2015, over 6,000 people made commitment to the Lord and nearly 5,000 were baptized!  There are nearly 2,400 groups and churches in the Project and the Project is moving forward to touch people in Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico, Guatemala, Argentina, Puerto Rico and Ecuador!  All Praise and Glory to the Lord of the Harvest! Now as we look to begin a New Year, it is with Much Excitement!  In 2016, there are beginning plans to train and mentor people in Honduras, Argentina, Mexico, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. 2016: The Year Of The Vision

Each year, as the current year ends and the New Year approaches, I try to spend time hearing from the Holy Spirit an emphasis for the coming year.  This year it was while I was in Mexico with the Amigos de Fe ministry and in the week after returning to the U. S. from there, that I believe I heard a special direction from the Lord for the coming year of 2016.  This word, this theme, this emphasis will direct the prayers, work, strategy, and energy of WME during this New Year. I believe that the word "VISION" was emphasized to me as a focal point for 2016.  So for World Missions and Evangelism, and especially for our INSTAR project in Latin America, I am calling this New Year "The Year of The Vision". While I was in Mexico with the Amigos de Fe ministry, led by Denzil and Rebeca Hood, longtime friends of mine, the seed was planted.  Brother Denzil spoke to me several times about the vision that their ministry had, and I sensed that it was the very same vision that

The End of a Great Year

The year of 2015 has been an amazing year for World Missions and Evangelism.  Not only has the work on the field been blessed in amazing ways, this has been a year of new heights for the Ministry as a whole.  God has opened new doors (that we will be going through in the New Year) and we are excited about all that He has done! There has been amazing increase in the INSTAR project this year.  When we ended last year, I wrote the following in our blog: An increasing Harvest of souls in the INSTAR (Latin American Church Planting Movement) Project.  In the Last 12 months 432 new Groups and Churches have been multiplied!  Total 859 Groups and Churches!  8,163 people are a part of these Groups and Churches.  In the last year, 1,423 have accepted Christ and 1,839 have been baptized.  Those statistics were up through the 3rd quarter of 2014. Now we are just putting the finishing touches on the 3rd quarter report for 2015....what has happened in just 1 year?  The level of multiplication i

A Busy Fall for WME!

It is hard to believe that the summer is almost over and we are coming closer to fall.  But although the year is getting ready to enter its last quarter, the work at World Missions and Evangelism is actually ramping up!   We hope all the readers of our Newsletter and Blog will pray and participate in as many of the upcoming events as possible! ARGENTINA 2015 Our biggest training event of the year is planned to launch very soon.  A large team from the United States and Honduras will be traveling to Cordoba, Argentina on September 14.  Many leaders from various Latin American nations will be gathering to be trained in the strategy and implementation of disciple making movements.  We are expecting people from 6 or 7 nations to be there including the training team.  Our Honduran team has already traveled to Guatemala, Nicaragua, and El Salvador to train leaders, and this will be the furthest trip that they have made to plant the seed for multiplying church movements since the beginning

Almost 2,000!

We have just received the 2nd quarter reports from our INSTAR project in Latin America.  Currently there are discovery groups, house churches, developed churches and other groups that have resulted from this project in Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Colombia, and Argentina, that we are reporting in this 2nd quarter.  Groups from at least 46 denominations or networks are involved in these groups.  The majority of the groups are in Honduras, where the project launched in the field in 2008. But now we can see that God has birthed a Disciple Making Movement that is touching thousands of lives!  We are thankful for the amazing things that are happening. This year our team had a goal to reach 2,000 groups by the end of the year....by God's grace this has almost happened by the end of the 2nd Quarter!  So here are the current official statistics of this movement at the end of the 2nd Quarter, 2015. Total number of Groups:  1,978 Total number of Discovery Groups with Pre Christians:

The Honduras Disciple Making Movement at 7 Years! Riding the Wave!

It is hard for me to believe that it has only been 7 years since Randy and Linda Travis, along with Keith and Juanita Travis started training Honduran leaders in the Disciple Making Movement (DMM) strategy in Santa Rosa, Copan in Honduras.  The 2 Travis families, both missionaries with WME, had embraced the vision of what we at that time called the Church Planting Movement (CPM) strategy. Randy and Keith had moved to Honduras to serve as the Strategy Coordinators for this project in June of 2007.  After months of preparing a base for training, developing a training curriculum, preparing for access ministry, and sharing the vision with Honduran leaders, the first team assembled on May 1, 2008 to begin an intensive 2 month training experience.  Counting men, women and children there were close to 20 Hondurans at the Santa Rosa base in May 2008.   That small group was trained and then began to go to villages without the gospel and search for the People of Peace that would open the door

What's Happening with World Missions and Evangelism?

INSTAR   :  Coordinators Randy and Linda Travis: Randy and Linda Travis have been missionaries in Latin America since 1982. During their first 6 years in Honduras they pioneered a church in the department of Olancho. From this church, came a network of churches. By 2006 there were about 25 churches in Honduras as a part of this network. In addition, Randy pioneered the gospel with the Pech Indian tribe. The Travis family became affiliated with W.M.E. in 1988 and were W.M.E.'s first missionaries. Soon afterward they relocated to Chiapas, Mexico and spent a number of years in evangelism and ministry in the indigenous church there. Also during their ministry, Randy taught missions at the Omega Missions Training Center in Alabama. In 2006, Randy met David Watson and had the vision to see a new church planting movement emerge in Honduras. Randy and Linda along with their son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Juanita, moved back to Honduras in 2007 and began
