Big Training in Tegucigalpa: 25 Denominations present

WME just finished its 3rd major training event for 2013.  This time the Honduras Church Planting Movement team was in Tegucigalpa.  The event took place in the mountains surrounding the capital city of Honduras at a beautiful location called Camp Shalom.  Camp Shalom is a wonderful Christian Campground that is run by the Mennonite Church.

The event was Hosted by Honduras Ministries and its Founders Jim and Frances Martin.  Jim has been a personal friend of mine for over 10 years, since I served as his pastor in Kentucky.  Honduras Ministries is doing a wonderful job of ministering to critical needs in Honduras.  The ministry aids the indigeneous church, works in feeding programs, provides school supplies for children, and now runs a school in southern Honduras.  The church that Jim and Frances are a part of is called Filadelphia Church.  The precious people from Filadelphia Church provided logistical support for this event, working beyond the call of duty to make this training event happen! On Thursday evening I preached at Filadelphia Church and was blessed by these precious people as they enthusiastically worshipped the Lord!

This was the largest CPM training event that we have done in the entire history of this project.  132 people were present in all.  7 of those were from Filadelphia Church and were working the event providing logistical support.  12 of those were from the United States:  David Parish, Randy Travis, Keith Travis, Jose Bonilla, Daniel Bonilla, Richard and Pat Crowder, Ben Holloway, Dale Swafford, Nahum Hernandez, Kirk Peterson, and Brad Taylor.  3 people came from Colombia to take the training:  Gonzalo Bonilla, Jose Martin Gonzalez, and Jhon Jairo Leon Cruz.  Jhon is a member of the Ticuna tribe of the Amazon.  These 3 plan to take the strategy back to Colombia and into the tribal area of the Amazon. 14 of the people came to the training to take specific training in Children's ministry in the church.  This track was taught by missionaries Richard and Pat Crowder.  All of our primary Team members and several others who help us teach these seminars were present.  The CPM Teaching team from Honduras consisted in:  Adiel Ponce, Carlos Andrade, Daniel Ortega, Jacobo Hernandez, Mario Mejia, Nahum Contreras, Oscar Hernandez, Rigoberto  Colindres, and Esteban Hernandez. In addition to these, there were a few present who had taken the CPM training before and were back to learn more.  Approximately 80 Hondurans were taking the CPM training for the first time!

Pastor Nahum Hernandez from Alabama, preached on 3 evenings and there was a special move of the Holy Spirit at this training.  The attendees were taught, equipped and spiritually refreshed!  Each participant in the training recieved a megavoice machine, the 24 Discovering God DBS studies, and all the training material so that they can conduct their own training events.

People were present representing at least 25 Denominations or Networks.  Honduras, Colombia, the United States, and India were represented (Kirk Peterson of Denver is a key board member of India Transformed, a great ministry in India).

Thanks to God for this amazing event.  Join with us in prayer that the seeds of the Gospel and CPM will bring forth a great harvest for the Kingdom of God.
