A Look at the INSTAR Strategy Moving Forward

The INSTAR Project was launched officially in 2008, when Randy and Linda and Keith and Juanita Travis began training a small team of Honduran Leaders in the Disciple Making Movement Strategy (DMM).  Since then movements have resulted in Thousands and Thousands of new Groups and Churches that are touching at least 7 Tribal Groups and 5 Nations and that has seen well over 60,000 people come to Christ in a movement 30 Generations Deep!  Our focus has grown from seeing the DMM strategy bear fruit in Latin America to seeing how the Great Commission can be fulfilled in the Western Hemisphere.

I want to show you  a glimpse of what the INSTAR strategy is becoming as we move forward.  Last Year (2020) our team developed a Strategic Plan for the Next 10 Years.  It is a flexible plan that allows us to develop in a way that can respond to the Global Circumstances, the Leadership of the Holy Spirit, and the Results on the Field as Doors are Opened.  Here is a quick Look:

THE PROBLEM: There are at least 372 Tribes in North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean that are UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUPS.  These represent tribes that are less than 2 percent responsive to the Gospel....some are at 0 Percent.  How can we reach them with the Gospel of Christ and DMM strategy?

THE GOAL:  Within 10 years, by the end of 2030, we want to see every single one of these groups evangelized, with a Disciple Making Strategy that is bearing fruit and multiplying disciples, groups, churches, and leaders!

THE PLAN:  Develop 12 Teams to focus on these People Groups.  Divide the Western Hemisphere into 12 Zones that each have approximately 30 Unreached Groups.  Each team will work to make sure that all of the UPGs in their Zone is engaged with the Gospel and DMM strategy.  These Teams will be formed a few at a time as workers and resources allow.

Where do we stand with this Process as we are in the first quarter of 2021?

4 of the Teams have been formed, at least in an embryonic form.  Currently we are focused on:

1.  Native American Tribes in the United States and Canada:  Team One is fully functioning with a Prayer Coordinator and Research Coordinator, and Trainers and Coaches.  We expect to do numerous DMM trainings with Native American Christians this year and to even begin to see some engagement with the UPGs in this region.

2.  Central America and Mexico:  This Team has been functioning from the beginning of the project and thousands of groups and churches have emerged.  Multiple tribes are engaged with the gospel and DMM.  This Team will continue to cultivate the Movement and will begin to focus on the remaining Unreached People Groups.

3.  Caribbean:  This Team is in early Development.  Connections have been made with leaders on at least 5 Islands and a foothold for the DMM strategy is being sought.  The focus will soon be to gather all the necessary research on the Caribbean UPGs so that the team can fully be engaged.

4.  Southern South America:  This includes the countries of Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Uruguay.  This year, in fact in March 2021, a training school for native missionaries is being started in Cosquin, Argentina.  The students which will be both Argentine and Native Tribal People, will be trained in Bible, general Ministry, and the DMM strategy.  The students will be deployed after 9 months to bring the Gospel and Disciple Making ministry to those regions and tribes.

Our plans are to solidify and establish these first 4 teams in the next 2 years (2021-2022) and then begin to add more teams in the other 8 Zones (4 Zones in Brazil, 2 Zones in Colombia, Northern South America, and Northwest South America).

Please pray for WME and all of its team leaders, team members, missionaries, and national partners as we Move Forward and Seize the Moments that God gives us.  Pray that Every Unreached People Group will be engaged with the Gospel and DMM strategy and see great harvest in the Next 10 years!  These groups represent well over 10 million people in our Hemisphere that are still Unreached!
