2020: Open Doors in Difficult Times

Dear Friend of World Missions and Evangelism and the INSTAR project. I know that if you are living in this difficult year, it may be hard to see the good news sometimes. A global pandemic is affecting many people directly. Restrictions and new rules are making life difficult or inconvenient at the very least. Here in the United States there is racial, civic, and political division and some of our cities are experiencing violence. Many people have been affected negatively in their businesses and in their personal finances. But at the beginning of this year, our team, in seeking God came away believing that He had shown us that 2020 would be a Year of a New Season of Opportunity. That has been our theme this whole time, shutdown and all. We felt God was calling us to seek Him and we especially dubbed the first quarter of the year " The Year of the Upper Room" recalling Acts 1. We declared that it would be the "Year of the Open Heaven" and we were claiming that God would meet the needs of WME financially to move forward into the harvest. We declared that it would be the "Year of the Open Door". We based this on Acts 3. In sharing this with others I felt the need to tell them that I DID NOT mean a Golden Open Door. I pointed out that the open door might very well be like the one in Acts 3....meeting a poor lame man who could give nothing, but that by encounter with the power of God, He was healed and subsequently the door was opened for the apostles to preach to the whole Sanhedrin (Acts 4). Finally we have declared that 2020 was the Year of Unleashed Multiplication! And where do we stand now in September? Upper Room? This year we have launched our Prayer Website (www.instarprayer.org). We have released a new book on How to Pray for Missions (in print and available on the prayer website for free), and we are focusing on prayer resources for the 372 Unreached People Groups in the West. Open Heaven? This year in spite of challenges, God has supplied all the needs, even erasing a deficit in our finances! Open Doors? This year because of the Pandemic, there has been a problem of villages in Honduras without food. While the country was locked down, and our team was stopped from doing outreach, we got government permission to bring food to the hungry. God generously provided the funds for the feeding program through our partners, and now we are feeding the hungry....literally hundreds of families being fed, and our team is allowed to travel, and people are accepting Christ and being baptized. In Argentina and southern South America, new doors have opened and we are now beginning to target new Unreached People Groups! Unleashed Multiplication? In the midst of this Pandemic, the multiplication has continued to happen through this project! In the first 6 months the movement grew from 26 Generations deep to 28 Generations deep....Over 1000 new Groups and Churches were planted, and over 4,000 people have accepted Christ and been baptized in the first 6 months of this year!!! Thank God for Unleashed Multiplication! To God be the Glory for All that He is doing during this year. Let us Focus on the Good News that Jesus is doing exactly what He said He would do. In this world there are massive problems, but If God Has Promised It, He will do exactly What He Said! You, our prayer partners and faithful financial partners are an important, indeed, key part of What God is Doing! Thank You for your faithfulness. Please Keep Praying, and Keep Giving and let us together see All that God Has Planned for 2020!
