Great Reports from Latin America!
We have just received the 2nd Quarter Reports for the INSTAR project! INSTAR Strategy Coordinator, Keith Travis, has just finished the compilation of the report. The majority of this report represents April-June, 2018. We stand amazed at the grace of God in the Harvest for His Kingdom that He is bringing in!
Here are the totals first of all!
2nd Quarter Growth:
Groups/churches: 771 New Groups and churches
Professions of faith: 2,936 New Professions of faith
Baptisms: 2,886 New Water Baptisms
Participation in groups: 3,284 New Participants in Discovery groups
This represents the following amazing advance by average:
8 New Groups/Churches per day
36 New Participants per day in Discovery studies
32 New Professions of faith per day
32 New Water Baptisms per day
We are giving God glory for this amazing advance in the 2nd quarter!
The INSTAR project began in 2008 when Randy and Linda Travis and Keith and Juanita Travis began training and mentoring a small team of Honduran leaders in the Disciple Making Movement strategy. Thus it has now been 10 years since the launch of this project. The teams began doing access ministry and looking for people of peace in July, 2008. This report is mostly ending with the statistics of June, 2018. So we are seeing 10 full years.....120 consecutive months of applying the DMM strategy. Here are the cumulative totals we are currently counting:
Total Groups/churches: 9,208
Total Participation: 47,072
Total Professions of Faith: 33,844
Total Baptisms: 30,212
The movement is currently 20 Generations in Depth.
In a previous blog this year, Randy Travis, Keith Travis, and myself told the in-depth story of the history of this movement and mentioned by name many of the people that have been involved in this project. I will not repeat all of that right now, but will mention a few of the leaders that are involved in this work. For a more full story, I would point you to the previous blog post of May 16 this year.
The Core project consists of the Strategy Coordinator, Keith Travis, the Training Coordinator, Randy Travis and the Honduran Vision Team of Adiel Ponce, Daniel Ortega, Jacobo Hernandez, Oscar Hernandez, Carlos Andrade, Mario Mejia, and Rigoberto Colindres. This Vision Team has raised up many many leaders and lead teams that are seeing this amazing multiplication. This Core Team has seen groups multiply in Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Costa Rica. The primary results are in Honduras, where the movement is in some places, 20 generations deep.
In addition to this Core Team, the number of Groups and Churches include reports from Ecuador where WME missionary Julio Rodriguez is mentoring 12 groups and from Argentina where WME representative Oscar Praniuk is leading the work and especially helping with the Wichi tribe. In Argentina, Bolivia, and Chile we are counting 144 groups. David Fackler has conducted training in Barbados where there are currently 5 groups. Anthony Fouts is specially training/mentoring a portion of the Honduras work where we are counting 30 groups. All of these numbers are counted in this report.
However, the INSTAR project is larger than this. Some work in Latin America is not included in this report. The reason is that some work has recently joined as part of WME through the ministry of new WME missionaries. Jim and Cindy Lilly, new WME missionaries this year, have been mentoring DMM work in Haiti, Bolivia, and Chile. Phil and Jami Corvone, are missionaries to Mexico doing DMM work there. New Life Church in Louisville is mentoring DMM work in Haiti. Each of these is seeing fruit in the work. In the case of the Lilly's and the Corvone's we would be counting groups that were already in existence when they became a part of WME and the INSTAR project. So these groups are not in the totals we are reporting.
We are so excited about what God is doing. Our vision for the Next 10 years is to see such exponential multiplication that every unreached people group in the western hemisphere (352 in all) will be reached with the glorious Gospel of Christ! To God Alone Be All The Glory!
