The Chart says it all. Here is a snapshot of progress since the INSTAR project began 8 years ago. We stand in awe of what God has done and is doing through faithful Kingdom workers in Latin America. This project was birthed in 2006 when Randy Travis and I were spending a week being trained by David Watson. We began to learn about the strategy of Church Planting Movements and Disciple Making Movements. As that week in September, 2006 ended, Randy suggested that we try to apply the DMM principles as a "Pilot Project" in Honduras. After nearly 2 years of foundation laying for beginning, Randy and Linda Travis and Keith and Juanita Travis began the task of training the first people that were willing to learn a new strategy. 13 Honduran men, plus some wives and children gathered. Counting everybody including the missionaries, there were 23 people at the training base in Santa Rosa de Copan, Honduras in May, 2008.
In July, the trainees began to go into village areas looking for people of peace.
Since then thousands have been saved and baptized and 4,962 groups and churches have been birthed. It is a movement 14 generations deep at this time. We believe that about 30,000 people have been involved in some way over these last 8 years and that over 27,000 are involved in the groups and churches. 9 nations have been impacted.
The Vision of the INSTAR Project is to catalyze Disciple Making Movements in Every Country of Greater Latin America including all the countries from the Top of Mexico to the Tip of South America as well as all Caribbean nations. We include the Hispanic populations of North America as well. The goal is to see Closure to the Great Commission in Greater Latin America by Pentecost Sunday of 2030. We also hope to see thousands of people from this Harvest go to other regions of the world as DMM missionaries to complete the Great Commission worldwide!
To all the Prayer Partners and Financial Supporters of this Project, we say Thank You so Much! We ask that you continue to Partner with WME and the INSTAR Project in Prayer and Giving to see total fulfillment of the Vision and the Greatest Harvest Ever in Greater Latin America!
