The Argentina Trip
Dear friends,
I want to thank you for your prayers and support for the Argentina Training Event that took place from October 5-8, 2016. It was an awesome time of equipping men and women in the Disciple Making Movement Strategy. It took place at the World Missions and Evangelism base in Coquin, Argentina. Here are some of the details from the event!
Celebrating finishing the Training!
The team that traveled from the United States and Honduras consisted of David Parish, Randy Travis, Linda Travis, Damian Praniuk, David Fackler, Rigoberto Colindres, Oscar Hernandez, Jacobo Hernandez, Carlos Andrade, Richie Clendenen, Oscar Praniuk and Edith Praniuk. The training was done by David Parish, Randy Travis, Damian Praniuk, David Fackler, Rigoberto Colindres, Oscar Hernandez, Jacobo Hernandez, and Carlos Andrade. On Sunday, October 9, Richie Clendenen, Senior Pastor of Christian Fellowship in Benton, Ky, officially launched the church on the training campus as Christian Fellowship of Coquin, Argentina. There was awesome excitement over the launch. Oscar and Edith Praniuk are staying in Argentina to serve as pastors of the church and as the official WME representatives for Argentina and that region of South America.
The people that were trained came from 3 different countries: Argentina, Bolivia, and Chile. Representatives of 2 tribes were trained: the Wichi and the Guarani tribes. Key people were trained who work with other tribes and regions and people that are ministering both in rural and urban areas, including college campus ministry in Buenos Aires.
Most exiting to us is the fact that the translation of the Discovery Studies into the Wichi language was completed and edited during the time there. We sensed spiritual warfare over this, including computer crash and the illness and hospitalization of one of the Wichi men who was helping with the work. God overruled, the man got out of the hospital and the data was recovered. By the last night of the training by heroic efforts (Randy Travis worked literally all night, finishing at 5 a.m. the day we left Cosquin) the recording/editing was finished. At the dedication church service on Sunday Morning, the first Wichi Megavoice with studies was dedicated and as tears flowed from the Wichi brother we were able to put the device in his hand!
The Megavoice in the Wichi brother's hand for the first time!
David Parish and the Wichi Chief holding the Megavoice. Praise God!
Please continue to pray for the work with the Wichi people, those trained from Argentina and Chile, and for the Guarani tribe of Bolivia. The leader from there will be beginning to translate the studies into their language soon we hope. 3 of the Hondurans remained for another week to do practical mentoring and field experience with some of the people on the base. The seed has been sown. Pray that it will find good ground and result in a great harvest of souls and disciples making disciples and churches planting churches!
To you the faithful prayer and financial supporters, we say thanks from the bottom of our hearts!
God bless you in an abundant way,
David Parish
