A Busy Fall for WME!

It is hard to believe that the summer is almost over and we are coming closer to fall.  But although the year is getting ready to enter its last quarter, the work at World Missions and Evangelism is actually ramping up!   We hope all the readers of our Newsletter and Blog will pray and participate in as many of the upcoming events as possible!

ARGENTINA 2015

Our biggest training event of the year is planned to launch very soon.  A large team from the United States and Honduras will be traveling to Cordoba, Argentina on September 14.  Many leaders from various Latin American nations will be gathering to be trained in the strategy and implementation of disciple making movements.  We are expecting people from 6 or 7 nations to be there including the training team.  Our Honduran team has already traveled to Guatemala, Nicaragua, and El Salvador to train leaders, and this will be the furthest trip that they have made to plant the seed for multiplying church movements since the beginning of this project in 2008.  The training event will be from September 17-20.  Please pray for this important event!


PUERTO RICO 2015

David Parish and Ben Holloway will be traveling to Puerto Rico in October to facilitate an introduction to disciple making movements strategy.  The principles will be taught at the Church of God Seminary extension. Remember this event in prayer during the days of the trip:  October 15-19.

The Holy Spirit and Disciple Making Movements

Recently at the Disciple Making Movement leadership meeting in California, one of the main topics that we focused on was the Role of the Holy Spirit.  A key leader from West Africa led the discussion of this topic.  I remember being especially challenged by this study and by interactions with this leader.  He is a special friend who I have known since 2006, and his influence has touched me greatly.  In the last few weeks since the meeting, I have reflected, prayed, and begun to seek the influence of the Holy Spirit more than I had been doing in recent years.  Now I want to share some reflections on the role of the Holy Spirit in Disciple Making Movements (which may or may not reflect the discussions we had in California).  Regardless of where one stands theologically, it cannot be denied that those who focus attention on the Holy Spirit's activity have seen the launching of some of the largest "Movements" in the history of the Church.  Think of the Pentecostal/Charism

Non-Cessationist Sola Scriptura: The Theology of CPM

I believe in a theological position that I call Non-Cessationist Sola Scriptura. Sola Scriptura refers to the Reformation doctrine that means "Scripture Alone" and that asserts that the Bible alone, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, are the only inspired Word of God and that they are the sole authority for God's people, flawlessly communicating God's will to mankind.
