WME's New Website

World Missions and Evangelism has a new website that we want to introduce to all of our readers.  You can find us at www.worldmissionsevangelism.com.

Here are some of the exciting features of the new website.

1. If you press the "Home"  button, several options will appear.  First is the "About Us" option.  Here you will learn general information about WME.  Second, is the option, "What are Church Planting Movements?".  This will lead to a short explanation of what CPM is all about.  Third, is "WME Around The World".  This is one of my favorite pages.  A map of the world will come up with points around the globe, representing all of WME's missionaries and also several projects.  You can click on any point to see what is going on there.  Some of them will give the option to go to a full page description of the missionary or project.  Fourth, there is the "Contact" option.  If you click that and send a message, it is sent directly to my personal email!

2.  After you have explored that, check out the "Projects" option at the top of the screen.  The Website is featuring 5 of the projects of WME.  Each one has a full page with details and information, and there are some exciting videos. First, is our primary project, "The Honduras Church Planting Movement".  Second, you will find a page for the "Healing Projects" which involves healing and medical ministry to orphans in China and Guatemala.  Third, there is the Indonesia project (which is launching on the field this month).  This is a focus on disciplemaking movement strategy aimed at unreached peoples in the Indonesia region. Fourth, there is Southern Africa project, which is a Disciplemaking project aimed at tribes in Botswana, as well as partnership with church planting movements in the broader Southern Africa region.  Fifth, there is the "City of Children" project, an orphanage ministry in Guatemala.  The city of children and the Honduras project now comprise the base of our larger Latin American CPM project.

3.  Next, take a look at the "Missionaries" option.  Currently 8 of our Affiliated missionaries are highlighted with detailed information about their ministries.  This option is still under construction and hopefully will soon include almost all of our Affiliated missionaries (except those working in sensitive areas of the world).

4. Next to that is the Blog option.  Our blog appears on the website as well as here at wmeinc.blogspot.com.

5.  Finally there is the "Give" button.  You can go here for secure online giving to WME, or to preference your giving toward one of the WME projects or Affiliated missionaries. 

We are excited about this new website!  Thanks to WME's Communication Director, Lindsay Harlan, for creating and maintaining the site!  Please visit us often and share with others!

The Holy Spirit and Disciple Making Movements

Recently at the Disciple Making Movement leadership meeting in California, one of the main topics that we focused on was the Role of the Holy Spirit.  A key leader from West Africa led the discussion of this topic.  I remember being especially challenged by this study and by interactions with this leader.  He is a special friend who I have known since 2006, and his influence has touched me greatly.  In the last few weeks since the meeting, I have reflected, prayed, and begun to seek the influence of the Holy Spirit more than I had been doing in recent years.  Now I want to share some reflections on the role of the Holy Spirit in Disciple Making Movements (which may or may not reflect the discussions we had in California).  Regardless of where one stands theologically, it cannot be denied that those who focus attention on the Holy Spirit's activity have seen the launching of some of the largest "Movements" in the history of the Church.  Think of the Pentecostal/Charism

Non-Cessationist Sola Scriptura: The Theology of CPM

I believe in a theological position that I call Non-Cessationist Sola Scriptura. Sola Scriptura refers to the Reformation doctrine that means "Scripture Alone" and that asserts that the Bible alone, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, are the only inspired Word of God and that they are the sole authority for God's people, flawlessly communicating God's will to mankind. The "Sola" or "Only" part asserts that nothing else does this or has this authority....Not Tradition, Magisterium, Hierarchy, Leaders, or Experiences from whatever source....ONLY SCRIPTURE!
