Great Training Event in San Nicolas, Honduras
A great training event just ended in San Nicolas, Honduras. The training went from December 12-16 and was focused on intensive instruction in Church Planting Movement principles, as well as practical training in the leadership of Discovery Bible Studies with a view to disciplemaking and church planting.
This was our 3rd and final training event for 2012. And it was the largest, both in total attendance, and in new potential church planters trained. Over 100 people attended at least some portion of the training and 80 potential church planters took the entire training. Over 100 megavoice devices were distributed so that the trainees could immediately begin to apply what they learned. In all 11 different denominations were represented and we have key contact leaders in each of these groups. (In 2012's 3 events, over 150 new potential church planters have been trained for the first time).
The training was conducted by Randy and Keith Travis, our strategy coordinators for the Honduras CPM project, and by the Honduran field team consisting of Adiel, Jacobo, Oscar, Daniel, Mario, Carlos, and Beto. Daniel was the conference field coordinator and will be the team member responsible for follow up with the key leaders from the 11 denominations.
We would ask for special prayer for the follow up to the training. Please pray for these 11 denominations/organizations and their trainees. Pray that they will immediately put the principles into practice. Pray that all trainees will find persons of peace, begin DBS groups, mentor new leaders, and see many people come to a saving experience with the Lord, and that these new disciples will reach others....resulting in churches planted that reproduce exponentially. As this happens many will come to faith and God will be glorified through the multiplication of His work.
You can watch scenes from the 4 main days of training by checking out the youtube videos down the right hand side of the blog.
Praise God for His amazing work!
