A Look at All that WME is Doing!

I want to use this blog post to share the big picture of all that WME is involved in worldwide. World Missions and Evangelism is a missions sending agency that has missionaries and missions projects in Central and South America, Africa, Asia and the Pacific, and Europe. WME serves 25 missionaries and or missions projects and these missionaires are involved in helping further the work of the Kingdom of God in a variety of ways. Here are a few areas in which WME missionaries and projects are involved:

Central America and South America:
1. Educational projects in Bolivia and Columbia
2. Children's ministry and Orphan care in Honduras and Costa Rica
3. The Honduras Church Planting Movement Project (159 churches so far!)

Africa:
1. 2 Bible Colleges in Kenya. (Missionary Leadership for these schools)
2. Orphanage in Kenya
3. Evangelism, Children's ministry, Church leadership and Benevolent ministry in: Zimbabwe, Kenya, Botswana, Mozambique, South Africa, and Sudan.

Asia/Pacific
1. 3 WME missionaries focused on the Peoples Republic of China.
2. Church Planting in the Philippines
3. Preparation for Unreached Muslim People Group outreach in Brunei and Indonesia.

Europe
1. A powerful university student ministry in France targeting international students from many countries.

Our blog is focused on the CPM work in Honduras, because that is the primary church planting project at this time. But in addition to the churches being planted in Honduras, 212 additional churches have been planted over the last 11 years in India, Indonesia, South Africa, Swaziland, and Romania. Adding Honduras to that gives a total of 371 churches planted through WME's church planting projects! Final preparations are being made this year to deploy our missionary to the Muslim people groups we are targeting in the Indonesia area.

So this note is to let you see the BIG PICTURE of all that WME is doing and involved in. Thousands upon thousands of people have been, are being, and will be impacted by all of the ministries that are a part of WME. Please keep it all in your prayer. Thanks so much for all of your support.

The Holy Spirit and Disciple Making Movements

Recently at the Disciple Making Movement leadership meeting in California, one of the main topics that we focused on was the Role of the Holy Spirit.  A key leader from West Africa led the discussion of this topic.  I remember being especially challenged by this study and by interactions with this leader.  He is a special friend who I have known since 2006, and his influence has touched me greatly.  In the last few weeks since the meeting, I have reflected, prayed, and begun to seek the influence of the Holy Spirit more than I had been doing in recent years.  Now I want to share some reflections on the role of the Holy Spirit in Disciple Making Movements (which may or may not reflect the discussions we had in California).  Regardless of where one stands theologically, it cannot be denied that those who focus attention on the Holy Spirit's activity have seen the launching of some of the largest "Movements" in the history of the Church.  Think of the Pentecostal/Charism

Non-Cessationist Sola Scriptura: The Theology of CPM

I believe in a theological position that I call Non-Cessationist Sola Scriptura. Sola Scriptura refers to the Reformation doctrine that means "Scripture Alone" and that asserts that the Bible alone, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, are the only inspired Word of God and that they are the sole authority for God's people, flawlessly communicating God's will to mankind. The "Sola" or "Only" part asserts that nothing else does this or has this authority....Not Tradition, Magisterium, Hierarchy, Leaders, or Experiences from whatever source....ONLY SCRIPTURE!
