Join the Honduras Prayer Team

This is one of the most important announcements we have made with respect to the Honduras Church Planting Movement Project. We are asking for people to join the prayer team for the HCPM. In every Church Planting Movement in the world, prayer is the most fundamental critical element. I have stated in other blogs that prayer is the first critical element on every list I have ever seen. As our team works diligently in Honduras, they are in need of intense prayer cover. Here is how you can be a direct part of what is happening.

I have appointed Tom Geerdes, one of WME's board members, to be our Prayer Coordinator. He will be in contact with Randy Travis, our Strategy Coordinator on the ground in Honduras. He will be receiving prayer requests from the team and passing them on to our prayer network members via email and in other ways. Tom hopes to find local prayer coordinators in partnering churches as well. These local church prayer coordinators can help mobilize their church to provide prayer cover. We hope to develop some special Bible studies to help people become better intercessors.

I hope that the Lord will lay it on the hearts of many readers to become involved in this way. Please pray for the health of our team members. Our Strategy Coordinator, Randy Travis has been having some health challenges and one of our Honduran workers, Adiel, has been having some severe back problems. Let's agree for the Lord to heal them. The Holy Spirit and Disciple Making Movements

Recently at the Disciple Making Movement leadership meeting in California, one of the main topics that we focused on was the Role of the Holy Spirit.  A key leader from West Africa led the discussion of this topic.  I remember being especially challenged by this study and by interactions with this leader.  He is a special friend who I have known since 2006, and his influence has touched me greatly.  In the last few weeks since the meeting, I have reflected, prayed, and begun to seek the influence of the Holy Spirit more than I had been doing in recent years.  Now I want to share some reflections on the role of the Holy Spirit in Disciple Making Movements (which may or may not reflect the discussions we had in California).  Regardless of where one stands theologically, it cannot be denied that those who focus attention on the Holy Spirit's activity have seen the launching of some of the largest "Movements" in the history of the Church.  Think of the Pentecostal/Charism

Non-Cessationist Sola Scriptura: The Theology of CPM

I believe in a theological position that I call Non-Cessationist Sola Scriptura. Sola Scriptura refers to the Reformation doctrine that means "Scripture Alone" and that asserts that the Bible alone, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, are the only inspired Word of God and that they are the sole authority for God's people, flawlessly communicating God's will to mankind.
