Partnering Churches

In this blog, I want to thank all of WME's partnering churches for their faithfulness to support the work that WME is doing, and to especially highlight 3 of our most faithful partners. In the New Testament, Paul especially commended the church at Philippi for their partnership with him in the gospel. It is true that in missions we can go, pray, or send by giving. We count on all of our individual and church partners to cover WME and especially the Honduras project in prayer, as well as to send by faithful giving. WME has wonderful partnering churches and there is no way that we can share our full gratitude for their faithful support. In this blog, I want to turn from the mission field and focus on the home team that supports the church planting movement project in Honduras and other outreaches that are impacting the world.

CAVE HILL INDEPENDENT CHURCH OF GOD, VERSAILLES, INDIANA

The Cave Hill church has been a faithful supporter of WME for over 10 years. As a partnering church they have been a model of faithfulness. Our partnership with Cave Hill began about the time that WME began to focus its strategy on church planting in the year 2000 and they have been on the whole journey with WME as 212 churches were planted in India, Indonesia, Romania, South Africa, and Swaziland. In the last couple of years they have focused with WME on the Honduras church planting movement project, even sending a team of 13 last June to do Access ministry there. Through their work, doors of ministry were opened for the advance of the gospel.

Thanks Cave Hill. We appreciate you so much.

OASIS CHRISTIAN CENTER, PADUCAH, KENTUCKY

I cannot even begin to express my appreciation for Oasis Christian Center and Pastor Larry Starnes. During these first 2 years of launching the Honduras church planting movement project, the partnership with Oasis was simply nothing less than MISSION CRITICAL. When I shared this project with Pastor Starnes before we launched into the field, it seemed that it was a Divine moment and a Divine appointment. As Oasis partnered with WME for the Honduras project, it was literally the impetus to launch. I can honestly say that what Oasis has done in these 2 years was the critical difference between doing the project or not being able to start at the time. When this partnership began, the Honduras project was just a dream. Since then, leaders have been trained, wells have been drilled, education projects have been carried out, and together with our partners that we have trained in Honduras, over 400 locations in 7 states of Honduras have experienced inductive Bible studies that are moving forward towards a church planting movement.

I will be speaking at Oasis Christian Center the next 3 weekends (Feb 14, 21, and 28). I look forward to seeing and fellowshiping with this tremendous church body.

Thanks so much.

CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP CHURCH, BENTON, KENTUCKY

Christian Fellowship Church, which I served as Senior Pastor for 14 years, is truly one of the greatest churches that I know. A true mission church, it was the original partnering church with WME and it continues to faithfully support and undergird the work of WME.

CFC is now moving into a wonderful transition. Last year CFC celebrated its 40th anniversary (1969-2009). What a history of blessing and faithfulness to the Lord it has had. In those 40 years it has only had 3 Senior Pastors. My father, Dr. J. T. Parish was the founder, but my uncle, Dr. Carroll Parish was the first pastor (1969-1970). Then my father, Dr. J. T. Parish served as Senior Pastor for many years (1971-1994). I served as Senior Pastor from 1995-2008 and then launched full time into leadership of WME and the project that we are currently doing. My dad, Dr. J. T. Parish then served again in the last year (2009-2010).

Last Sunday, CFC elected its 4th Senior Pastor, a young man that I have known and loved and worked with for many years, Rev. Richie Clendenen. Pastor Clendenen actually worked on staff at WME for a number of years (2001-2008) as well as served on the pastoral staff of CFC. I congratulate Christian Fellowship and Pastor Richie Clendenen and believe that this transition will serve CFC well as this wonderful church moves into the future. May the next 40 years be even greater than the first. And WME looks forward to a continuing partnership with CFC for the advance of the Kingdom of God.

CFC, and Pastor Richie, we love you and appreciate you so much.

And to all of WME's partnering churches, Thanks for your prayers and support. Without you, there would be no projects going forth touching the nations, through WME.
