A Wonderful Year For WME

Here is a brief last word for 2009. It is one of praise to God for His faithfulness and blessings to World Missions and Evangelism. I really believe that this has been the most significant year in the history of our organization.

WME was founded in 1988 to be a ministry of helps for 1 missionary. After focusing our strategic work on church planting, WME helped train church planters between 2000 and 2008 and through their work, planted 212 churches. WME was introduced to the church planting movement strategy in 2005 and 2006 and decided to launch a cpm project in Honduras. The foundation for this was laid in 2007, and the project launched in 2008. The story of that launch and project can be read in the articles posted on this blog during the last 2 years.

That brings us to 2009. Here in a nutshell is a report of where WME is and what has happened this year.

1. WME continues to facilitate missionaries in 20 nations on every continent except Antartica!

2. WME has seen the Honduras project multiply from about 25 locations to over 300 locations this year.

3. WME has experienced amazing advances and answers to prayer this year, including a successful short term trip to do access ministries in Honduras. Answers to prayer including healing have been seen.

4. In addition to the multiplying cpm project in Honduras, WME personel have been able to do some level of cpm training in Mexico and in Kenya. A special training is scheduled for January 2010 in south Mexico, and about 70 people have expressed interest in further training in Kenya. Also, our HCPM team has facilitated additional training for other groups in Honduras, including 2 different denominations. Our missionary, Keith Travis has begun new inductive studies in south Mexico already.

5. In the midst of grave economic conditions that are pressuring many mission agencies and ministries in order to survive, God has brought WME through this year and all of the projects that we have started have been completed. We are looking forward to a fresh start in 2010.

In short, God has answered prayer for WME and WME is now operating ministries in more locations that at any time in our 21 year history. WME is looking forward to this coming year with prayer and anticipation for what God will do and how He will use this organization and it's workers to advance the Gospel and multiply disciples for Jesus Christ. Overall WME wants to be used by the Lord for His purpose of fulfilling the Great Commission in the earth.

Thanks for everything to the Lord. And a special thank you to all of the supporting churches and individuals who are making it all possible by God's grace. Your faithfulness is appreciated more than we can ever communicate.

I close this blog with a testimony that was sent to me a few days ago. It is from one of the Kenyan leaders who attended the Leadership seminar and cpm teaching that our team conducted in October in western Kenya. This man is a true world changer and it was an honor to meet him and give him some encouragement in his work. His name is Joseph and here is his brief testimony: (I have edited a bit of his letter for security reasons)

Hi David and the family I hope you are alright.

We are all ok in the Lord.

I am Joseph from Kenya and we met at the Leaders Conference.

It is my prayer that the Lord has been doing great in your family and the ministry.

We are also fine in the Lord still fulfilling the Great Commission.

It was a great moment to share with you on my ministry. Since then the Lord has been good and I have experienced his protection.

I went to Northern side of the country with a team of 10 people to evangelize. 95% of the residents is Muslim. Our first day was successful but the second day things were tough and 7 out of 10 in the group left us and were left only 3. On the third day as we witnessed we were kidnapped and held in a house. The kidnappers threatened to kill us unless we denounce Christianity and turn to Islam. After three days God brought a confusion and they started fighting among themselves. One of them was stabbed to death in our presence so that we can be afraid. The Lord strengthened us and we stood firm.

On the fifth day there the power of the Holy Spirit fell on the kidnappers and 3 of them surrendered their lives to Christ. They freed us and since they could be killed we had to leave with them to a safer place until their faith is strong. We suffered a great ordeal but the Lord was with us. WE SERVE A MIGHTY GOD WHO IS ALWAYS WITH US!

Remind the church to pray for those brethren since we will use them to penetrate in those territories.

We are in short of evangelism materials such as leaflets, handouts, films, audio cassettes, and we are appealing to Christians to help us with them to enable us penetrate where others can't reach.

May the almighty God bless you and have a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year

Together united in Spirit.

JOSEPH
