Progress, Prayer, and Planning

Randy and Linda Travis have just arrived home from Honduras this week. Here is the fantastic report about the progress in the Honduras C. P. M. project.

Last March, our initial studies began to see real multiplication for the first time since we launched the project. We had somewhere around 25 locations with inductive Bible studies started at that time. By the end of June, just before the political crisis hit the country, that had multiplied to 73 studies. Our latest assessment, brought back this week by Randy is that we now have 151 locations with inductive Bible studies. 123 of these are in Western Honduras, where our original project focus is. 28 of these are in Eastern Honduras where we have recently begun work. Praise and Glory to God. It is His work and we are very happy to be a part of what He is doing in Honduras. The next 3 months will be very important as the studies progress and the call to full discipleship to Christ is made. But know that those 151 locations for studies represent over 600 home gatherings per month and represent literally hundreds of people who do not know Christ as Savior and Lord, who are studying the scriptures weekly to learn and obey the word of God.

That's the Progress portion of this report, now for the Prayer portion. It's simple. Please pray for this project, the leaders both American and Honduran, and for the people in the studies. Join us in prayer that every study will be blessed by the participants coming to a genuine faith and obedient relationship with Jesus Christ. Pray that churches will be birthed through this that will become a genuine church planting movement that will transform the whole nation of Honduras. Pray Luke 10:2 that from this harvest, the Lord will raise up and send forth new laborers and that all of Central America will be reached. Pray for the financial provision for the project to come forth and for all needs to be met. Pray for all of our leadership team to have wisdom for every thing that is done.

And then that leads us to Planning. During this month Randy and Linda Travis and Richard and Pat Crowder will be back in the U. S. Keith and Juanita Travis will be in south Mexico and will be sharing about cpm principles with people there. I will be on a trip to Africa to teach cpm principles to some pastors there for part of the month. And the nation of Honduras continues to trek through its political crisis, with national elections slated for November 29. At the end of the month, when I get back from Africa, Randy and I will be meeting to plan strategy and next steps. We will need to be sensitive to the Word of God, the Holy Spirit, and keep an eye on the Honduran political situation and the progress of the studies. So please pray for us in a special way this month of October as we plan to help facilitate the work.

As always, thanks so much for your prayers and for support.
