Remembering a Special Friend: Bill Crowell

Last Sunday afternoon I visited for the last time on earth with a special Friend.  Bill Crowell was one of the finest men I have ever known.  His family, wife Betty, daughter Jeannie, and son Garland have been close friends of myself and my family for over 30 years.  Garland is one of my best friends and serves as a board member of World Missions and Evangelism, Inc.  Last August, Betty, Bill's wife of over 60 years went home to be with the Lord, and as I visited with Bill last Sunday I knew that it would not be long before he joined her in the prescence of the Lord.  We talked about the things of God and we had communion together.  Our prayers are with this precious family during this time.  We want to honor Bill's memory with this special post.  Following is the obituary for Bill. Billy Frazier Crowell of Nashville, TN, formerly of Benton, KY, passed away peacefully with family at his side on March 28, 2013 to be with his heavenly father. ...

I Heard From God Today

Let me start by saying that I am a Pentecostal/Charismatic Christian by experience.  I believe in the present day work of the Holy Spirit....I don't believe that the supernatural power of God or the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit ended when the Apostles died.  I was saved and experienced the filling of the Holy Spirit when I was 6 years old (44 years ago!).  I am praying in the Spirit (speaking in tongues!) as I write this. I have my Bachelor's degree from Lee University (Classical Pentecostal) and my Master's degree from Oral Roberts University (Charismatic). I'm a fourteen carat, gold plated Charismatic! I believe that God has blessed His whole Church Universal with the outpouring of His Spirit that comprised the "Waves of the Holy Spirit" that occurred in the 20th Century.   The body of Christ is much bigger than these movements, but the whole body has benefited from the emphasis on the Person and Present Day Work of the Spirit of God.  From A...

El Salvador: Through The Open Door

I just returned from El Salvador where WME conducted its first Church Planting Movement training event.  This training is a direct result of the work in next door Honduras where Beto's groups and churches have been multiplying so greatly.  The training was very near San Salvador and although it was one of our smaller trainings (about 15 people took the training) it represented leaders from 6 different denominations.  I must say that in terms of questions and discussions and a sense that these leaders were really grappling with the issues, it was one of the best trainings I have personally seen.   The first day of the training these leaders were hearing the beginning of the details of how CPM works and you could see that these were thinkers who were seriously analyzing what the team was saying.  On the second day in the first session we sensed that "something happened"!  There was a breakthrough as faces began to light up and the comments showed that there...

The Indonesia Project: The Launch

Last night my wife and I joined a special group in Nashville, Tennessee.  The group that gathered was comprised of family and close friends of Troy and Tracy Allen, a young couple that is launching out today to the other side of the globe to begin Disciple Making Movement work with Unreached People Groups. This couple represents the culmination of over 15 years of prayer and preparation to place missionaries on the ground in this particular region.  We are calling this project, The Indonesia Project.  You can give toward this project by choosing the give option on the blog or using the give button on the WME website ( www.worldmissionsevangelism.com ).  Then choose "Projects" and then choose the option "Indonesia Project".  As I said, the Allen's deployment represents a milestone for WME.  It is the end of 1 phase and the beginning of the "on the ground" stage.  Here is the story of how, in God's timing, He gave a vision for outreach, calle...

WME's New Website

World Missions and Evangelism has a new website that we want to introduce to all of our readers.  You can find us at www.worldmissionsevangelism.com . Here are some of the exciting features of the new website. 1. If you press the "Home"  button, several options will appear.  First is the "About Us" option.  Here you will learn general information about WME.  Second, is the option, "What are Church Planting Movements?".  This will lead to a short explanation of what CPM is all about.  Third, is "WME Around The World".  This is one of my favorite pages.  A map of the world will come up with points around the globe, representing all of WME's missionaries and also several projects.  You can click on any point to see what is going on there.  Some of them will give the option to go to a full page description of the missionary or project.  Fourth, there is the "Contact" option.  If you click that and send a message, it is sen...

Through the Open Doors!

"I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name."  Revelation 3:8  We have declared this year, 2013, to be the year of "Simple Obedience, New Fields, and New Open Doors for World Missions and Evangelism.  When we look at the words of Jesus to the church of Philadelphia, in Revelation 3:8, we realize that it is God's job to open the doors.  But if God opens the doors, then it is our job to go through the doors!  (The scripture does not contain a promise that God will drag us through!)   So God opens the door, and no one can shut it while He holds it open, but during that time...that window of opportunity, we must go through.  And that is what we are planning to do this year.  God has opened several doors and the WME team is moving quickly to go through into new harvest fields!  Door Number 1:  Guatemala...

2013: The Year of Simple Obedience, New Fields, and New Open Doors

From all of us at World Missions and Evangelism, Inc., we wish you a very Happy and Prosperous New Year.  As I have thought about this new year, I realize that many people are filled with trepidation about what may be coming on the earth.  The economy has many people walking in fear.  But as I have considered the word of God, I am reminded of some great promises.  Specifically I have been focused on Matthew 6: 33- "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." I believe that as we continue to make our daily priority God's Kingdom (His rule in our lives and our obedience to Him, as well as the expansion of His Kingdom) and God's Righteousness (Our relationship to Him through faith in His blood, maintaining a clean walk through confessing our sins (1 John 1: 7,9)) He will meet all of our needs, in this economy or any economy!  This year I am standing on this verse and claiming its promise, as well as focus...
